A workshop paper for NordiCHI Workshop on the Integration of User Centred Design in Agile Development

The “one sprint ahead” approach in which UX specialists work ahead of software developers has become a highly popular means of integrating agile development and user experience design. However, researchers still report various problems in agile UX work in the software industry. Those include balancing the amount of design upfront work, maintaining the big picture of the project, and synchronizing UX and development tasks. In order to fix those issues, we suggest a more collaborative approach. Our particular concern is on the upfront design phase.
